Why a veterans might be your next BEST hire?

 Well Educated

The military has traditionally encouraged its service members to  take advantage of continuing education programs. Indeed, more veterans have college education and many possess a Bachelor’s Degree or higher.   Today’s new veterans will have spent one-fourth of their military careers as students or instructors in their various specialties.

Leadership

Veterans understand practical ways to manage and achieve goals in even the most trying circumstances. They are trained to lead by example as well as through direction, delegation, motivation, and inspiration.

Diversity and Inclusion in Action

Veterans have worked respectfully and cooperatively alongside others regardless of their race, ethnicity, gender, religion, or mental and physical capabilities

Conscientious and Hard Working

Service members are taught early on to pay meticulous attention to detail.  These emerging new  veterans know how to set priorities, how to work under pressure, how to function as part of a team and how to exercise initiative.  As future civilian employees, transitioning military personnel have the  education, training, experiences and personal characteristics that can easily make them invaluable to employers in today’s competitive labor market.

Health and Fitness

The military has programs to maintain the health and fitness of  the service member. Potential employers will generally find emerging veterans to be in excellent health. There is rigorous drug prevention and detection program  that’s service members live with, so that drug abuse is almost non-existent in the Veteran.

Efficient Performance under Pressure

Service members have the capacity to know how to accomplish tasks on time and in spite of stress or adversity. They understand the importance of dedication and perseverance.

Integrity

Veterans know what it means to do an “honest day’s work.” This integrity translates into qualities of sincerity and trustworthiness.

Tapping the Talent

Veterans have sophisticated and up-to-date work experience in occupational specialties which are directly transferable to civilian sector.
